What's your business, and who are your customers?
I'm a leadership and life coach (aka professional mind organizer) and artist. I help creatives, entrepreneurs, and purpose-driven leaders bring their visions to life.
Tell us about yourself
Before starting my coaching practice, I helped startups build award-winning products, better processes, and healthier teams in industries from educational kids apps to the blockchain. I learned what it takes to make a successful business, but I also learned about the pitfalls. Helping people navigate the challenges of work - emotionally, strategically, and creatively, is a kind of alchemy that feeds me. We live in a society that teaches us our value is our productivity, where access to opportunities are unequal, and where our sense of self-worth and community often comes from our jobs. I'm motivated to broaden and ease the path to success so more people can pursue their dreams while prioritizing well-being.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I'm most proud of helping people become more joyful, confident versions of themselves. It's rarely what they come in asking for, but always what they leave talking about. Working with leaders, creatives, and entrepreneurs means the impact has a ripple effect through what they create and everyone involved in the process.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
A business is fundamentally about making money. You have to sell stuff people are willing and able to buy. When you have a purpose-driven or creative business, it can be hard to tread the line between what sells and what you care about or want to create and share with the world.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Build in time to reflect, process, and get support from others. Just working harder never works for long. Get clear on what success is and the why behind it for you. The first helps with prioritization and focus, and the second with motivation and alignment.
