What's your business, and who are your customers?
I consider myself a movement practitioner specializing in Pilates.
Tell us about yourself
I began taking Pilates when I was about 45 and training for a marathon. I had heard it was useful in avoiding overuse injuries and core strengthening. I finished the marathon without problems and have stuck with Pilates ever since. That experience taught me that Pilates is the best foundation for any sport or even simply for activities of daily life.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Seeing clients every day feeling GREAT in their bodies and loving movement.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Bookwork! I'm a passionate teacher, but office work is NOT my jam. I've recently hired a bookkeeper, which lightens the load considerably.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be passionate about what you do, and you can't fail.
- Be committed - you can work through a lack of motivation and hard challenges when you are committed.
- Know what you are great at, and outsource what you dread or are not good at.
