Tell us about yourself
As a first-generation Honduran American and founder of Latina Podcasters, I'm deeply passionate about amplifying the voices and stories of Latina, Latino, and Latine podcasters across the globe. Growing up in a household rich with Honduran culture and surrounded by strong Latina women, I witnessed the power of storytelling and the importance of representation firsthand.
My journey into founding Latina Podcasters began with a personal desire to create a space where Latina voices could be celebrated, heard, and valued. As a podcast enthusiast myself, I noticed a lack of visibility and opportunities for Latina podcasters within the industry. This realization fueled my determination to build a platform that not only showcases the diverse talent of Latina podcasters but also connects them with brands and opportunities to thrive.
Each day, I'm motivated by the impact our platform has on both podcasters and the broader Latino community. Seeing the growth and success of Latina, Latino, and Latine podcasters as they share their stories, insights, and expertise brings me immense joy and fulfillment. I'm inspired by the resilience and creativity of our community and driven to continue providing support, resources, and opportunities for their voices to be heard.
Moreover, knowing that our work contributes to greater representation and inclusivity within the podcasting landscape keeps me motivated. I believe that by elevating Latina voices and amplifying their narratives, we can challenge stereotypes, break down barriers, and create a more equitable and diverse media landscape for future generations.
Ultimately, my passion for storytelling, cultural pride, and commitment to empowering others fuels my dedication to Latina Podcasters. I am honored to serve as a catalyst for change and a champion for Latina, Latino, and Latine voices in podcasting, and I am excited to continue this journey of empowerment and advocacy for years to come.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As the Founder of Latina Podcasters and now adding on Tech Founder of Lativerse, an ADtech and MediaTech platform specializing in video podcast distribution for Latino storytelling, one of my most significant accomplishments as a business owner has been facilitating connections between brands and podcasts, leading to the monetization of over $1 million in ad revenue and sponsorships on our podcasts.
This accomplishment reflects not only the growth and success of the podcasters within our network but also the value we bring to brands seeking to reach the Latino audience through authentic and culturally relevant content. By forging meaningful partnerships and leveraging the influence of Latina, Latino, and Latine podcasters, we have been able to demonstrate the immense potential of podcast advertising and sponsorship within the Latino market.
Additionally, launching podcasts featuring legendary Mexican actresses like Angelica Maria and Angelica Vale represents another major achievement for our platform. These collaborations not only showcase the caliber of talent and storytelling within our network but also highlight the diversity of voices and perspectives that contribute to the richness of Latino culture.
Overall, these accomplishments serve as a testament to the impact of our platform in empowering Latina, Latino, and Latine podcasters to thrive while providing brands with effective opportunities to engage with the Latino community. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved thus far and am excited to continue pushing boundaries and driving innovation in the realm of Latino storytelling through Lativerse.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I believe that navigating tech and media both have unique challenges and opportunities. In an industry often dominated by larger players and established networks, breaking through as a Latina entrepreneur requires perseverance, creativity, and a keen understanding of audience dynamics. The media landscape is ever-evolving, with shifts towards digital platforms and on-demand content reshaping how audiences consume and engage with media. As such, staying ahead of trends, harnessing the power of technology, and embracing diverse storytelling approaches are crucial for success.
One of the toughest aspects of being a business owner in this space is the constant need to prove oneself in an industry where diversity and inclusion initiatives are still gaining traction. As a Latina founder, breaking stereotypes and overcoming biases becomes a daily challenge, requiring resilience and a strong sense of purpose. However, it is precisely this diversity of perspective that can be a catalyst for innovation and disruption within the media landscape, offering fresh insights and narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
Furthermore, as a first-time tech founder, mastering the intricacies of digital platforms and leveraging technology to amplify Latina voices presents its own set of hurdles. However, it also opens up a world of possibilities for reaching and engaging with audiences in new and innovative ways. By embracing technology and harnessing its potential to democratize media production and distribution, Latina entrepreneurs can carve out their own space within the media landscape, driving meaningful change and representation for future generations.
