What's your business, and who are your customers?
A professional lash and brow salon specializing in eyelash extensions, lash lifts, and eyebrow services such as waxing, tinting, lamination, and semi-permanent brows.
Our customers are of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
Tell us about yourself
I was motivated to start Lash Love Beauty Bar because I had a passion for the beauty industry and loved getting my eyelashes done. I also wanted a life where I wasn't restricted to a certain schedule or routine. The beauty industry gave me time and freedom, and I love what I do every day and the clients I get to meet. My motivation would definitely be my family. Making sure they are taken care of and again the ability to have time freedom.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I would say my biggest accomplishment is starting a business without any funding. I did all the funding, and I didn't have much money. Building a business from the ground up with your own money and seeing it flourish to what it is today. That's being self-made to me.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The pro is definitely time freedom, but also, you are working 24/7; being a business owner never shuts off. Even if you're on vacation, you are still working. That's the hardest; you can never clock out.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't let money stop you from pursuing your dream or idea. If there is a will, there is a way. If you really want it, you will figure out how to get started with barely any money.
- Prep your mind for failure and how you will overcome it because you have to have a strong mind to overcome the failures and struggles. Be ready for war. Once you train your mind to have tunnel vision, you'll find a solution to every problem.
- Once you've made it, make sure to take care of yourself. Make sure to make time to live life with the fruits of your labor. It's okay to rest.
