Skin Loving Botanical Soaps - Larkspur Lane Soaps & Sundries

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in skin care but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Brenda Scarborough, Founder of Larkspur Lane Soaps & Sundries, located in Emmett, ID, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I make handcrafted soaps and lotions using minimal skin-loving ingredients that are packaged in eco-friendly packaging. My customers are those 30 to 40-year-olds that are concerned about what they put on their skin and who love to support local small businesses.

Tell us about yourself

I was concerned about what I was putting on my skin, and a lot of products out there are full of bad for your skin ingredients. I decided to go back to school and learn about natural skincare formulation. My motivation comes from knowing that I am providing products to people that are wanting an alternative to what is out there.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Not giving up during the pandemic and being able to sell on multiple platforms.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

As a small business owner, the hardest part is doing all the things!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know your base.
  2. Sell on multiple sales channels.
  3. Have your systems in place.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Just have fun!
