Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in music but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Larisa Gosla, a musician, songwriter, and vocal and music coach based in Austin, TX, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I run a transformational music and vocal coaching business. My clients work with me to reclaim their singing voice, release limiting beliefs around their singing and expression, and strengthen their musician skills to become more connected to themselves and life.

Tell us about yourself

I started my business in 2015 after combining all my years of professional experience as a musician, performer, singer, hypnotherapist, and sound healer. I experienced how the power of music can heal us from the inside out by participating in plant medicine ceremonies, and I knew it was a mission of mine to support others in the reclamation of their own voice. The motivation for me is the reward of witnessing my clients transform in their expression! Watching them access more of their joy and liberation through maintaining an unwavering connection with their voice, bringing healing into their bodies, creating more connection with their kids and family, and finding more joy and pleasure in life, is what fills my heart up and allows me to love what I do!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Besides the financial freedom and success it has brought me, I am grateful every day to do what I love and know that I am making a difference in others' lives! Offering a service that creates more beauty and connection in this world is my biggest accomplishment!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

There is truly, SO MUCH goodness and freedom to being a business owner! This question really made me think; however, one thing that I've struggled with in the past is letting go of employees that aren't meeting the job requirements but whom I love and care for. I've had to learn how to make sure I am putting the vision and alignment of the business as a priority, regardless of how much of an amazing person they may be.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Follow your heart, no matter what. The abundance flows from that alignment first.
  2. Be willing to take risks. See every perceived failure as a learning opportunity to grow from, and you'll be unstoppable in creating a life you love!
  3. You are THE BEST investment you can make. Your self-development is priceless, and investing in yourself to be able to create more beauty, love, joy, connection, prosperity, and freedom is always going to be WORTH IT.
