What's your business, and who are your customers?
Lake City Cider is a local Cidery and taproom located in Downtown Dartmouth. We take the beautiful apples of Nova Scotia and make great-tasting craft cider. We don't just stick to apples. We use all the flavours the province has to offer to make a long list of must-tries!
Tell us about yourself
With a background as a sommelier and 14 years within the alcohol beverage industry topped with my love of Dartmouth and cider, I got to a point in my life where I wanted to create something for myself. Lake City Cider is a representation of me as a business.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
What brings me the most joy as a business owner in Downtown Dartmouth is to be able to participate within my community. Not only do I run a business here, I live and raise my children here. I truly want everyone to experience the vibrancy Dartmouth has to offer in its diversity of people, business, its wonderful lakes, and amazing views.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Clear communication. It can sound simple but can easily create unnecessary problems. Finding those who can communicate well can help problem solve best.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Double down on your passions, champion your own skillset and hire the skills you don't possess.
