A Little Taste of France - La Parisienne

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Patrick Morin, co-owner of La Parisienne, located in Seattle, WA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

La Parisienne is an authentic French bakery. Christine Morin and I moved to Seattle from France to follow their dream, bringing Paris to Seattle. The bakery offers a variety of wonderful pastries, traditional French bread, and delicious lunch items. Our goal is to bring customers to Paris at the time of a tasting.

Tell us about yourself

Christine and I owned a well-known French bakery in Le Mans, France, for many years. In 2004, we decided to continue our career in Paris, and then we moved to Seattle to open their French bakery. Our goal is to bring the savoir-faire a la Françoise in Seattle.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Last year, we had the opportunity to be part of the 66 minutes documentary in France on the M6 channel. The bakery has been really successful. We are really happy to share our products with customers and other partners such as Amazon and smaller restaurants and coffee shops in Seattle.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Being a business owner is a lot of work. Our biggest challenge is to find employees, especially during a time like this. It was very stressful during COVID as well because we weren't sure about tomorrow. We had the chance to think about new ways to grow our business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My three tips would be never to give up, always follow your dreams and listen to customers' needs.
