Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Pierpaolo Sansone, co-owner of La Panzeria, located in Montreal, QC, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Our business is an Apulian restaurant. Our customers are people like us who grew up eating traditional home-cooked meals with their families. They leave with a feeling of nostalgia. Other than the business aspect, we try to give something more to the Italian community here in Montreal.

Tell us about yourself

Hi, my name is Pierpaolo, and with my brother Davide, we own La Panzeria, a small Apulian restaurant in the heart of plateau mount royal. What pushed me to open my business was that I was missing my regional food as soon I moved to Montreal from Italy. I felt like I had to share with the Montrealers my passion for the flavours of my region.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The smile on my customer's faces when they try our food!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

That you never have days off!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be different.
  2. Work hard.
  3. Believe in your product.
