Party With Your Little Princess! - Kuties and Kupcakes

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Niki Pearson, Owner of Kuties and Kupcakes LLC., located in Las Vegas, NV, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are the first and only mobile spa-themed party bus in Las Vegas. We specialize in spa-themed birthday parties, sleepovers, kid's picnics, and mobile karaoke parties. Our customers are primarily girls ages 3-16 years of age.

Tell us about yourself

I began my company after retiring from my job as a flight attendant during COVID. I decided it was time to transition into something new, and once I retired, I was looking for my next chapter. My mother had a childhood friend who had a party bus in Atlanta and suggested I speak with her. Once we spoke, I knew it was the next step for me. I found my bus and a conversion company, and the rest is history. I was motivated by my own children wanting to create a legacy for them to have the option to blaze their own trail instead of taking the traditional path of employment. Also, Las Vegas needed something unique and different that was tailored for the children. There is such an untapped market for kids in our city, so I wanted to bring something fun and exciting just for the kids.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been the creative aspect that I have tapped into. I have always considered myself creative and artistic but never had a proper outlet to channel it. This business venture has awakened my creativity in ways that I never imagined and allowed my potential to manifest itself fully at my parties.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest aspect for me is the multiple roles that I have to undertake. I book my parties, host my parties, decorate all my parties, and prep all my parties. I am a marketing manager, social media manager, booking assistant and etc. I am learning how important a team is, and I haven't found the proper one yet, but it is the most challenging when you wear all the hats. Unusually at the beginning, you will most likely do just that.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My top tips for starting a business would be just start the business already. Fear is a stumbling block for most people when just beginning that process, so start that business and take the leap.

No one, and I mean no one, can do what you do like you. There can be ten businesses that have the same idea, and the execution of that idea will be expressed differently. You are unique and have talents and gifts that will set you apart, so do your thing and be yourself.

Lastly, Just the fact that you took an idea and turned it into reality is something amazing. Be proud of yourself for stepping outside the box and going for your vision. Think big, and if you reach a goal, then set another one and go bigger; it will take you places you couldn't believe you would go!!!
