Multi-Functional Nutrition Consultant - Kristy Hall

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kristy Hall of Living Well Nutrition and The Center for Epigenetic and Nutrition Counseling, located in Loveland, CO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I have three health and wellness businesses, Re:New, a neural entrainment company, Living Well Nutrition, a holistic nutrition consulting business; and Living Well Health Group, a functional medicine practice I co-own with an integrative physician. These companies serve people with chronic conditions that western medicine can't help much. We incorporate holistic, function, and integrative approaches to get to the root causes of health concerns. I specialize in epigenetic nutrition. I study the way your DNA behaves in light of your diet, environmental exposures, lifestyle, and stress level. Hint: Every thought you have creates a chemical that bathes your DNA, impacting your health.

Tell us about yourself

My interest in nutrition and its impact on health began when my baby girl was terribly chronically sick. She suffered many lab tests that revealed nothing. We found help from a nutritionist at the Mayo Clinic and a naturopathic doctor. These two professionals guided us to find the answers we were looking for in her diet. I've been helping my clients find the answers to their health concerns in their diets ever since. It is so rewarding to watch clients go from struggling with gut issues to happy bellies.

During the COVID shutdown, my partner and I discussed how we could help people better. We identified the need to help people heal emotionally. That was when I decided to start Re:New (ReNewRemedy.com). Incorporating neural entrainment in our office allows us to address both the physical and emotional factors contributing to diseases.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

One of my most important roles is to encourage people to think outside the box and think beyond the pharmaceutical. Yes, we can write prescriptions in the office, but we would rather not. We are much more interested in true healing, not the bandaid approach offered by prescription medications. I measure accomplishment by the goals set and achieved by my clients. I feel successful when my clients celebrate their success in my office.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest part of being a business owner is the vast array of responsibilities. Business owners wear many hats. The key to managing it all is to identify what you as the owner love doing and doing well as well as identifying what you don't love. Delegate what you don't love to those who do love those tasks. I have a wonderful team of five people that work with me to make our partner companies run smoothly.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Celebrate the small beginnings.
  2. Establish systems that work when you're small but will also work as you grow.
  3. Don't go it alone. Find great team members with skills that accent your skills to deliver a great product.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Focus on the people you serve and serve them with excellence. Life is about relationships. Invest in them wisely.
