What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a Stress Management Strategist, Leadership Transformational Advisor, and Intuitive Problem Solver. My customer base ranges from individuals, small business owners and entrepreneurs, CEOs, and companies looking to elevate personally and professionally through self-awareness and feel the benefits of life’s overall success.
Tell us about yourself
Before starting my business as an Intuitive Leadership Advisor, I spent 30 years as a professional makeup artist in the film and television industry. I loved the creative work, the thrill and excitement of the industry, and the people. My interactions with the various types of people and their personalities fascinated me. I eventually realized where my profound strengths and passion lay; in helping others manage life stress and tap into their intuition, creating inspiring, soulful transformations for those looking for a better way to experience a more grounded and fulfilled life.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I would say it’s the transformations I witness in my clients’ leadership and their businesses. When I work with people that are truly ready to move the internal and external mountains out of the way, their lives change forever in the most brilliant and surprising ways. This is priceless.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I don’t know if I can pinpoint one singular thing because it’s all challenging, depending on the day. For me, I don’t think of businesses as hard. I’d say it tests you on how important your business is to you and what you are willing to push yourself through to get to the other side, like the skills you possess or need to develop to move ahead and stay ahead.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- I encourage entrepreneurs and business owners to stay connected to a vision and the mission behind working for themselves versus someone else. I say this because when push comes to shove, and you’re losing steam, you’ll need to be grounded in a deeper reason to keep the faith and keep moving on.
- Be mentally and emotionally prepared for anything and learn from everything that occurs. So many things happened along the way, good and not good, needing to pivot quickly to stay afloat and, in some cases closing up shop, like my husband and I had to do with a coffee shop we opened. Ultimately, we lost the business but gained tremendous knowledge that I implement today in my companies.
- Learn more about your industry, general business, and yourself. Pay attention to how you can grow to improve the business’s success and, most importantly, join or create a business support group of like-minded, encouraging people who want to see each other succeed, learn, share ideas, and grow together.
