What's your business, and who are your customers?

KRAM Nutrition is a small, family-owned, operated business based in the greater Sacramento, Colfax, CA. We have created the healthiest organic on-the-go PB&J. Our customers range from professional athletes to anyone with a busy lifestyle looking for healthy grab-and-go options.

Tell us about yourself

My son and I have wanted to start a business that actually contributed to change in the world and being athletes and health enthusiasts. My son loves to cook and bake, so we created food that most athletes and families consume regularly. It is not only a nostalgic food but made with ingredients that truly fuel your body. With our food system being filled with foods that harm us, we love knowing that we are part of a positive change by creating foods that will nourish our bodies.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Learning every day not only about ourselves as humans and business owners, realizing our limits way exceed what we thought them to be but also helping others by providing nourishing foods that taste amazing.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

This is our first time owning a business, so navigating this system can feel uncomfortable and scary. We are taking all the hard and doing are very best to turn them into opportunities. I'm sure mistakes will be made until the end, but...we learn and grow together.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

1. Research your area of business and get a mentor to help you along the way.
2. Know that it will be much harder than you expected but that if you stay in the game, you will succeed.
3. Launch your business even if you don't know everything because that day doesn't ever come. Learning is one of the biggest rewards, so don't hold back, believe in yourself and your product, and keep moving forward.
