What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a business consultant and personal development teacher focusing on helping people connect to their inner guidance system and understand the hidden dynamics that affect their life, their choices, decisions, and actions.

Individually I work with people who are conscious leaders, healers, spiritual teachers, and coaches to transform very deep patterns that they are unable to access through other methods. My method is a synthesis of systems and helps transform root cause attractor patterns that are still creating repeat patterns in your life and either limiting you or causing inner struggles and conflicts.

I also consult financial and operational strategy to small/medium conscious businesses who are involved in bringing products or services to the world that are here to disrupt outdated models or make a change in the paradigm of thinking in people or just really cool products made with love and inspiration.

Tell us about yourself

I qualified as a chartered accountant, and it was never me. I was lost in that profession even though I was intellectually qualified to do the work, and I found it uninspiring. I would fall asleep at my desk at times, feeling drained and lacking energy and enthusiasm. I began my own development journey, and I found myself in the world of healing, coaching, and facilitating deep transformational pieces of training. This is where my enthusiasm lit up, and I excelled. This is what I was great at and I found my calling.

I knew from a young age already I would be involved in helping others, but I needed to walk a little journey to get to where I am and carry the depth of wisdom that enables me to help people transform the most resistant patterns in their life and find their true selves again.

I was interested in business from a young age and got involved in MLM companies, owned a restaurant and pizzeria, owned a small book distribution company as well as partnered in a coaching business.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I survived going broke three times and started from zero again. Each time was finding a way to generate sales and earn an income. My biggest accomplishment is not being afraid to start from zero because I know I've been there and I am capable of making it.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

There are a number of hard things when it comes to being a business owner. You cannot just focus on the thing you love doing but need to learn sales, marketing, accounting, human resource, and be a tech specialist also. Thankfully there are many tools and systems today that can fill in the gaps; however, a business owner needs to juggle many responsibilities simultaneously.

The toughest part of a business is predictable sales. When you nail your business recipe and match your message with the right audience, then you're in business ;-)

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Have enough financial reserve to carry you through unpredictable or unplanned situations. I had ten months reserve and stretched it to 14 months because I didn't know how to sell and market myself.
Focus on bringing value to your potential customers. Real value. Don't just give them something expecting to get something back.
Make sure you are prepared mentally and emotionally for tough times. Business can be fulfilling and inspiring and doesn't have to be tough and grind all the time. Have the right support and plan.
Bonus - don't leave your job too soon. Build a business on the side so that you don't need to depend on your business for security. Otherwise, it will throw your confidence and belief in yourself down if you are not progressing fast enough.
