Share Their Own Story - Kirosha Voice & Music

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in coaching but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kirosha Sidelca, founder of Kirosha Voice & Music, located in South Lancaster, MA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Kirosha Voice & Music helps Christian singers finish writing their original songs so they can ditch cover songs and share their own stories. Avoid the anxiety and overwhelm of creating, recording, and sharing something that is truly inspiring, truly impactful, and truly YOURS!

Tell us about yourself

I've been a singer for over 20 years and always knew deep down I was meant to build a life with it, but I let the things of life get in my way of building the life I wanted to live. I really hated the idea of professionally singing other people's songs. I didn't see the point and knew I could make a better impact by writing my own songs. At least I'd feel more like a true artist.

I struggled a lot with confidence in my songwriting and was told in different ways that I didn't really have what it took to do it professionally. I had a lot of raw talent, but I had no one to guide me on how to develop my skill. I recorded one album and then gave up. Even so, many people continued to share with me how my music changed their life, but I still felt it wasn't good enough or that I could never be successful in repeating the process. I decided working an office job was my plot in life.

After three kids, a pandemic, remote schooling, and migrating in-laws, I realized that life was no longer sustainable the way I was living it. I was miserable, exhausted, and broke! I needed to increase my income potential and free up my schedule for my increased responsibilities at home. With traveling to perform no longer an option, I had to lean on my other creative skills.

That's when Singer to Songwriter Roadmap was born! After some life and business coaching helped me believe in my gift, I decided I would coach other singers to be confident in their gift of song and help them complete all those song ideas that they may be afraid of tackling. My song has impacted so many lives, and I believe there are many songs out there waiting to make an unimaginable impact on their future listeners.

Seeing singers blossom into a confident artists and the joy on their faces when they realize they have what it takes is truly fulfilling and inspiring. Plus, being able to make my own schedule and be fully available for my family while my kids watch me do what I love makes it all worth it. They have an example that they can follow their dreams and make it in this world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I'm still a newbie but actually creating, developing, promoting, and completing a round of my program with actual students was so amazing to me! It showed me that I CAN do this and that what I have to offer is valuable enough for people to pay for it, and I could actually provide something that they desperately needed.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things is dealing with the uncertainty of it all. In the beginning, there were a lot of ups and downs in terms of the influx of clientele. Just being able to adjust, stay calm, and plan your finances accordingly can be challenging. It's hard not to go into panic mode or even doubt your capabilities or value.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

First, I'd say that the value of having a mentor is immeasurable. It's really the best way to reach your goals faster without trying to figure things out in unknown territory, not only in business but in mental, emotional, and self-sabotaging experiences.

Secondly, I'd say to start building a support system for yourself. Find your tribe. People who are in similar situations with similar goals can understand what you are dealing with and can give you counsel and encouragement.

Thirdly, don't let your business turn into another job! Take control of your home and work schedule and make it work for YOU. Put in your family, fun, and self-care items first and work around them. There is no way you can sustain your business if you run yourself ragged.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Remember to continually pour into yourself with affirmations, books, podcasts, and workshops that will uplift and grow you in mind and spirit. Negative self-talk, doubt, and sabotage are a constant battle. The more weapons you have to fight it, the better.
