What's your business, and who are your customers?
Our business is The Cactique Cactus + Succulent Boutique. We have an online boutique and also a monthly cactus and succulent subscription box. Our customers are plant lovers, beginning and existing plant parents, and gift-givers.
Tell us about yourself
We first got started working on our business because we bought a house that came with cactus and succulents, then we started collecting more, but eventually, they multiplied to an overabundance. That’s when we thought we should spread the succulent love. We’re motivated each day to do what we do because we truly love the plants ourselves, and it brings so much joy when our customers tell us how much they love them and what love what we do.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Our biggest accomplishment as business owners is perfecting the process of creating the cutest cactus and succulent arrangements and getting such positive feedback from our customers.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is making sure we’re always planning and constantly thinking months ahead. We try to create a theme each month, which entails lots of forethought (choosing pottery colors and style, choosing the plants, and choosing extra items that everyone will enjoy).
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
