Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kellsie Moore, an online business marketing and branding consultant based in Denver, CO, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I specialize in video presence coaching. I empower leaders to magnetize their online presence with authenticity and excellence to become captivating. My unique, insightful expertise comes from my work as a professional actress and my personal development background after leaving my career in Corrections. Featured in New York Weekly, Thrive Global, Entrepreneur Authority Magazine, IMDb, Medium, Voyage, Disrupt, and more.
Tell us about yourself
After finally leaving a spirit-diminishing job in Corrections, I found myself in a numbingly dull role in Higher Education. The good part about a dull job, though, is it opened up my emotional and mental state to invite new information in. I began deep diving into every single aspect of entrepreneurialism that I possibly could, branding, e-commerce, social media, SEO, websites, funnels, running ads, etc. While simultaneously improving myself through personal development and exploring my desire to be an actress. I became represented in multiple regions and began working professionally in commercials and indie films.
Fast forward a couple of years, and I merged these skills together and became a top Video Presence Coach for Personal Brands. I know exactly what it feels like to be held back by our fears, especially when it's staring us back in the face on camera. I am eagerly determined to help people with powerful messages show up online in a compelling and genuine way that adds value to this world.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The biggest accomplishment I've had as a business owner is the internal growth that I've experienced. It really all boils down to how we ultimately decide to face the many challenges that come with this line of work and be proud of who we're continuing to grow into during this never-ending evolution.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Pivoting, adapting, and adjusting as needed. Every new change, either from an external or internal circumstance, shifts the way we need to approach ourselves and our clients. This is both exciting and can be extremely difficult. And since you are the only one truly accountable to yourself, you are the one that must do the work to move through these changes and step into the next unknown.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Deeply understand why it is that you're doing this work.
- Actively pursue self-awareness, personal growth, and honing your strengths.
- Realize where you are struggling, stuck, overthinking, or procrastinating, and hire help in that regard.
