What's your business, and who are your customers?
Small family-owned meat processing and retail store. We harvest local animals for custom processing. All of our products are made in-house. We do everything the old-fashioned way.
Tell us about yourself
Grew up in a family meat market. I have been in the beef industry for over 30 years.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Starting this company with nothing but an old plant. Today we are a very successful small business that is a huge service to our community. I really enjoy giving people top-quality products at a value.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Staffing. What we do is physical, and not everyone can do the work.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Have a clear vision of what you want your identity to be and never waiver from that. Going for a quick profit does not always pay off in the long run. Over service your customers; if you can not get what they want, help them find it.
