Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Katherine McIntosh, Founder of Knowing That You Know LLC, located in Aspen, CO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am an author, speaker, energy intuitive, and consultant, and I facilitate classes and workshops in consciousness, self-awareness, and awakening.

Tell us about yourself

I went through my own mental and emotional healing crisis and, in the process, healed myself and realized the magic of self-awareness. People are suffering and looking for a way to get free, but the way they are going about getting free is on the surface instead of addressing the root to allow true freedom. I am motivated by human potential.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is watching people's lives change and having Jack Canfield read my book and change his own health journey.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Knowing where to focus resources and manage a team that creates self-motivation to build momentum in the process.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get clear on your vision, and even if it hasn't manifested, you have to be passionate about your mission; otherwise, you will give up when it gets hard. Trust what you know because someone is looking for what you have to offer.
  2. If you only do it for the money, you will burn out, so figure out how and what you want to spend your days doing, and do more of that. The money will come.
  3. You don't always need an expert to help you on your journey; you need to trust your knowing and follow those gut-intuitive hits. No one but you knows better about your business. In the beginning of tasting success, I started hiring experts to teach me how to market, but I realized through the process that that only delayed and stifled my success because I was following their advice instead of trusting what I knew worked. It is a process, so don't be in a rush to get to success. Make sure you enjoy the journey. You will always be evolving, and self-growth and self-awareness are crucial to becoming a true leader.
