Tell us about yourself

I was born in Curitiba, Parana, a city in Southern Brazil. I am a former Family Law attorney and College Professor in my home country with a Doctor in Civil Law degree and published two books about DNA and Paternity.

I have lived in Dallas for almost 15 years, where I'm married and have two daughters. After being a stay-at-home mom for about 11 years, I decided to pursue a new career as a yoga teacher. I became certified in the Kaiut Yoga Method and Psychotherapeutic Yoga.

Yoga has been a part of my daily routine for about 20 years. I discovered that in my journey as a yoga teacher, I could recreate my life as an entrepreneur as I founded Kasa Yoga, a destination for wellness, health, and beauty, inside out, for people of all ages and stages of life. I created Kasa Yoga in the heart of Dallas: a street called Lovers Lane, AKA the Miracle Mile, inside the first neighborhood where I have lived since moving from Brazil.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Despite the odds, I remained a believer in the product and services I offer. I trusted my instincts, left the fear out of the equation, and kept moving forward with a good team behind me.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Despite having a great team with me, all of the responsibilities are on my shoulders. From the moment I open the doors to the moment I close for the day, the energy I bring to the studio and my students is on me. All plans, strategies, and changes all come from me then I meet with my team to discuss the best way to execute them.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do something unique.
  2. Do it because you love it.
  3. Don't let fear interfere with your dreams.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Have joy, fun, and grace owning your business!
