Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Karina G. Sanchez, a thought leader, author, and coach based in Toronto, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help professional women become online bosses! Essentially, I work with women who are looking for a way out of corporate and help them transition from a 9-5 into an online business. My customers come from many walks of life, countries, ages, and backgrounds. If they want to create much more freedom, both time and money, I'm your girl. I've done it, and now I teach it.

Tell us about yourself

I lost my job during the pandemic. I knew I had to make a change so I would never have to depend on others for my livelihood. I rolled up my sleeves and took my skills online. I put a plan in place that I knew I could follow. This step-by-step guide became my roadmap to success. Within a few months, I published my first book in three languages, then my second, and so on. After that, I started my online courses, which I teach until now. Soon after, I doubled my income, and now, I show other women how to start an online freelancing business using their existing skills. You don't know what you are capable of until you try. Let me show you how I did it because I am certain that if I can do it, so can you!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment to date was to double my income within five months of starting my own business and teach other women to do the same.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Well, the hardest thing is wearing all the hats and managing it all. I had to learn to surround myself with a solid team of women to help me take my business to the next level.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Figure out how much money you need to support yourself for a few months. Just bills and food. Nothing else.
  2. Find a coach or a mentor that has been there and has done it. It will shorten your road and struggle by a lot and save you a ton of time, and time is money.
  3. Plan for tomorrow but roll up your sleeves and go to work today. As long as you're moving forward, you can't fail.
