What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is Kandi’s Kreations; I make wreaths and centerpieces for everyday and holiday decorations. I also mentor over 500 students in my private design school.

Tell us about yourself

Around ten years ago, I started making wreaths for friends, and I was immediately hooked! Definitely knew it was more than just a hobby; it was a passion. Knowing I inspire others to grow in their talents, business, and person overall definitely keeps me motivated.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Gaining the respect and trust of others in the community to know that I will always represent with integrity and kindness.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Imposter syndrome! I never knew the amount of healing and mental toughness it would take to be an entrepreneur.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. It doesn’t matter how talented you are if nobody knows who you are! Put yourself out there no matter how hard you think it is.
  2. Be hungry, always hungry for growth and knowledge. I’ll never stop looking for what’s next.
  3. Keep going. I know it’s hard, but if I quit every time I wanted to give up, I wouldn’t be doing this interview.
