Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in leadership development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kaivalya Kashyap, CEO of International Academy of Transformative Leadership GmbH, located in Winterthur, Switzerland.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are offering workshops, education packages, and retreats with the sole purpose of making leaders fulfilled and joyful from within. This will render to the world they are in.

Tell us about yourself

I realized that I expected others to love me, value me, and understand me, but I neither loved myself nor did I value myself or understand myself. This brought me to the point where I quit everything I did, left all my possessions behind, and started searching without any baggage. Finding this on 11 May 2013, experiencing this as a profound shift within myself, I started the path of rendering love and compassion to others.

My work is not a job; it is a mission to establish peace and love in the corporate world. So the motivation or even inspiration is to give something back to this world. To make myself a better human being every single day and share this experience with others. It is this unconditional friendship that is based on the emotion of love and compassion which will make corporates and society resilient and strong. It is my nature which I express, and so it is a deep routed energy that I simply express without any effort.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My team and the faith and trust we have in each other. We have an emotional space where everyone can be him or herself and therefore feels safe to express whatever is there. There is no judgment, blaming, or comparison between the members, and everyone supports each other. We work on target like every other organisation and make money, but the way we do it is not harming anyone intentionally and producing something which helps society and the world. Our goal is to contribute what we produce to the social well-being of everyone.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

There is actually nothing hard; otherwise, I would be doing the wrong. It takes awareness and consistent effort, but it is not tough if one steps ahead every day little. The challenges are opportunities to grow and learn. So there is not one bit I would like to miss because everything helps me and my organisation to complete ourselves.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have a vision that unites people and comes with a graceful intention.
  2. Do not rush but go step after step consistently and work in a crowd so one can nourish the other.
  3. Share a part of your revenue with others in terms of donations and/or give one day a month for a social cause. Like that, you give with unconditional love and receive with gratitude.
