Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jeffrey Law, CEO and Co-founder of Kai Wagyu, located in Costa Mesa, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

At Kai Wagyu, every cut is premium, and every bite special. It only takes one bite—to get a taste into the world of wagyu beef and embark on a dining experience unlike any you’ve had before. We import A5 Wagyu beef from Japan and other premium foods worldwide to ship directly to our customers' home. Our mission is for our customers to enjoy a fine dining experience in the comfort of their own home.

Tell us about yourself

Kai Wagyu started in the middle of COVID-19 when we saw a need for a premium dining experience in the comfort of our own homes. Real authentic Japanese Wagyu beef used to only be accessible at high-end Michelin restaurants. It seemed almost unattainable, while it was available in almost every supermarket and yakiniku restaurant in Japan. What keeps us going is the desire to provide more and more options for our customers when thinking about having an upscale dining experience at home with loved ones. Whether it is meats, premium seafood, or specialty sauces and seasonings, we are always bringing in new and exciting stuff from reputable brands & farms.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is providing thousands of customers around the USA with the luxury of A5 Japanese Wagyu.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest but most fun things as a business owner is the challenge to keep building and getting better every year. My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is providing thousands of customers around the USA with the luxury of A5 Japanese Wagyu.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My advice would be to seek out a mentor or surround yourself with other business owners who have had success and learn from them while providing some sort of value.
