What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a professional hair and makeup team in the Houston area. We are known for our experience in diverse and multicultural weddings. Our team is experienced in all skin tones and hair types. With over 12 years of experience in beauty, we focus on staying on top of current and future beauty trends.
Tell us about yourself
I was in the restaurant industry for a very long time. Customer service was something that always came naturally to me. I have always had a passion for beauty and makeup. I would spend hours on hours perfecting my own makeup. One day one of my coworkers suggested I start a YouTube to teach others how to do makeup, but I wasn't huge on doing social media, so I decided to channel my passion in a different way. I began to do friends and family and anyone who would let me practice. Gradually they begin to tell their friends, and the rest is history.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Hiring my team. Being able to provide opportunities in the current economic state is the most rewarding part of this journey.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Making tough decisions that are for the better of your company as a whole. It is important to stay true to who you are in every situation.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be your own biggest fan.
- Don't compare yourself to others.
- Do what you love, and the clients will come.
