Helping Small Businesses Grow - JVI Mobile Marketing
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in marketing but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jay Vics, CEO and Owner of JVI Mobile Marketing, located in McLeansville, NC, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is JVI Mobile Marketing, and we are a marketing technology consulting and solutions provider catering to local B2C-based as well as B2C e-commerce businesses. This can be home services like landscaping and pest control, retail, and family fun centers.
Tell us about yourself
I am motivated and get up for work every day to provide for my wonderful family. I love what I do, and it is very exciting to help small business owners achieve goals that they wouldn't have been able to achieve if we didn't make the proper suggestions and implement tools and software they can use to grow their business. We are now going to 11 years in business this May 2023, and we are super excited about the next 5 years!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been surviving for 11 years and finally growing to a place where I now have employees that I am responsible for, as well as watching businesses literally grow 4X before my eyes.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about being a business owner is the tremendous responsibility you can put on yourself when you start to hire others and realize that you are responsible for other families. Organization, processes, and delegation are very difficult, but at the end of the day, you cannot scale yourself, so you need to leverage other people's talent to have a remarkable business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Deliver as much value in advance of the money to everyone you would like to work with. This could include a consultation, a document, some free content, an interview, etc.
- As you acquire customers in your niche and you find yourself doing things over and over again, write the steps down and document the process. You will need this when you hire someone to grow faster.
- Leverage other people's talents as soon as possible. If you aren't doing this, you are just a freelancer pretending to run a business rather than a true business that can run without you. This is where I have gotten stuck for years, and I am finally at the point where I am figuring that last part out.
