What's your business, and who are your customers?
Junie Bees Butta is a universal skincare brand offering a better alternative to chemically- enhanced skincare products. We provide quality eco-friendly, all-natural skincare products handcrafted to rejuvenate and illuminate the skin. We appeal to women between the ages of 30-65 looking to smooth skin appearance, combat cellulite, and hydrate skin, mothers looking to soothe and relieve their kids' skin inflammation, and men who are surprised they love it. Junie Bees Butta is a Butta Alternative.
Junie Bees Butta is also a champion for small women-owned businesses in the community and beyond. We use our platform to connect with and support other small women-owned businesses through monthly live interviews discussing self-care and wellness and weekly newsletters highlighting these businesses.
Tell us about yourself
I'm a Los Angeles native, wife, and mother. I have always had a love for a natural and holistic lifestyle which inspired me to start handcrafting body butter to heal my daughter's skin from eczema and other skin concerns.
After graduating from Howard University with a degree in biology, I successfully created an effective eco-friendly, all-natural formula that heals, soothes, and rejuvenates the skin... Junie Bees Butta was born!
As the founder of Junie Bees Butta, I have experienced many challenges, but what keeps me motivated are the testimonials from my customers and how proud my daughter is of Junie Bees Butta and her curiosity about one day taking over the business.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is getting the opportunity to have my products on store shelves.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things for me is releasing control and funding. Team development and funding are key to longevity and growth.
