What's your business, and who are your customers?
Julie Hullett Concierge, LLC offers customized concierge and personal assistant services in Nashville and beyond. My clients are busy professionals who value their time and want to spend it on their priorities—rather than their to-do lists! Whether my clients are interested in traveling more, building their businesses, spending time with family, or exploring their hobbies, I can help them build a life they love!
Tell us about yourself
I left a successful corporate career and started my own business for two reasons. The first was that I knew I wanted to work for myself. The second was I wanted to provide a service that genuinely helped people and maybe even changed their life! I know I give my clients peace of mind and assist in reducing their stress. Most importantly, I give them more of our most valuable resource—time!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
During my eleven years as a small business owner, I’ve built a solid network of vendors and suppliers who have helped me manage everything from home renovations to wedding planning! I have a large client base and have solidified my reputation as a person with integrity who gets things done.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Running a business is all about balance! It’s been difficult to find time for myself while also building a business I’m proud of. I realize I’m not alone in this struggle, so I started a podcast to talk to other small business owners and learn how they juggle everything. The podcast is called Time Well Spent with Julie Hullett, and you can find it wherever you listen to podcasts. Over the past few years, I’ve really refined my ability to balance work and play and have built a life I love, too!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
If you’re starting a business, I encourage you to take the leap! There will never be a perfect time, and we only have so much time in our lives! And speaking of time, make sure you make time for yourself—being a business owner is a lot of work, and it’s important to take care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. And finally, always be willing to help others! When I started my business, I made a point to have at least one meeting a week with someone outside my network. Those connections have helped me over the past eleven years, and I’m always looking for opportunities to help others and return the favor.
