What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm an experienced teacher and entrepreneur who does freelance writing, content development, and marketing consulting.

Tell us about yourself

This is actually my fourth (!!) business that I've started, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love being an entrepreneur. Although it has its challenges, the experience of growing a "business baby" from infancy is so rewarding.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

This year a big accomplishment was learning contract law to successfully negotiate business contracts and finding an affordable lawyer who I could consult on a regular basis. Along with that, I've also moved into new verticals, including journalism-type writing, which has been very exciting. This answer changes year to year, so check in with me next year for more!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The pressure and sense of responsibility to juggle different hats can be extremely overwhelming.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

You can only do so much on your own, and you need to be prepared to be scrappy, make sacrifices, and find areas where you can invest in support.
