What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm the creator and owner of Journey Soap Bar. I create skincare that helps people from all walks of life who deals with problematic skin, such as eczema, psoriasis, and dry skin.

Tell us about yourself

I began my business about four years ago when I found myself being allergic to just about everything. I'm motivated daily by knowing I can help other people get back to living and not have to worry about their skin 24/7. Life is meant to be enjoyed, and it's my joy to be able to help others do just that.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is being able to help as many people as I can, and my work is still ongoing.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

I would say finding that balance because once you find something you love doing and are passionate about, you want to do it all the time. I love creating, but I also love my family, so finding that balance has been the greatest but hardest thing, but I've found what works for me.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do things right and in order, don't take shortcuts.
  2. Be patient. Building a business takes time but be ready because, at any given moment, your break can be at hand.
  3. Manage your time and money wisely, take chances but be mindful of your why always, and keep GOD first!
