What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a quality chocolatier, creating handmade chocolates for over 42 years. Our unique baskets and platters stand out, making anyone who uses or sends them stand out as well. Our customers range from individual chocolate lovers to corporate clients who need gifts or promotional chocolates.
Tell us about yourself
I have been in the food industry since I was 15 years old, with experience in restaurant and hotel food and beverage management. I have worked for companies such as Hyatt Hotels, Hilton International, and independent 5-star hotels as part of their opening teams. I came to Florida for a hotel project, which was ultimately canceled, and found Le Chocolatier as an opportunity.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Took a small chocolate shop from 500 sq. ft. to our own custom buildout of 3,500 sq. ft. and built a reputation as a quality, high-end, high-service-oriented business. Now it is a full family business with my wife and son on the team.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Being responsible for the continued success of the business for the benefit of my family and team.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Work hard and know everything about your business. You can delegate but always monitor what is being done. Be responsive to your customers, whatever their needs are.
