What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am the founder, CEO, and President of Jars of Joy. When I was at my Mom's work and saw Jars and candies next to each other, my Mom said I didn't need them anymore and to put them to good use. So, I did that and made Jars filled with inspirational quotes and candies. Our business is all about positivity. We have Jars filled with inspirational quotes and candies for positivity. We came out with a new idea recently. Scented and Unscented Candles. At the end of the candle, when the candle is done burning, there is a quote.
Tell us about yourself
I am 17 years old and in 11th Grade. I am in High School at the Fayetteville-Manlius High School. What motivates me each day to do what I do in life and help other people is knowing Never to Give Up and trying to help people who are depressed, who need help in life, or just want a friend to talk to.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner would be helping people and people thanking me for all I did for our community. It makes me feel good that I am doing good with my business.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that have come with being a business owner for me would be dealing with the negativity or even people laughing at your idea. But look, it has been successful. And it definitely has helped people.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The top three tips I would give to anyone looking to start a business would be just to start it now if you are a teen like me or even if you are an adult because it could be successful one day. My second tip would be to meet people when you have started your business, go to events and stuff, print out business cards, and share your ideas with people. My third tip would be to go on LinkedIn and sign up to be successful and meet other people with ideas.
