Commercial Use SVG Designs - Jolly Little Prints
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Cindy Craig, owner of Jolly Little Prints, located in 100 Mile House, BC, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
My name is Cindy Craig, and I am the owner and designer behind Jolly Little Prints on Etsy. I design SVG files for vinyl and wood cutting machines. My designs are not limited to cutting machine users, as many people also buy my designs to print as well!
Tell us about yourself
I have always loved drawing, painting, and creating. I bought a Cricut machine, and I was making wooden signs to sell at my local market when I discovered that I had a love for designing. I began exploring selling my designs on Etsy, and shortly after that, I opened a shop! I am motivated by the growth that I see in my business. Persistence and pacing are key.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I think that my biggest accomplishment was learning my design program Adobe Illustrator! It is a huge program, and I am forever learning new techniques!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
When you are a business owner, you have to prepare for the ebbs and flows of sales. I currently also work a full-time job as a teacher because it takes time to build a sustainable business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be prepared to constantly learn new things.
- Enjoy the journey.
- It is a process, and you need to take it one step at a time.
