What's your business, and who are your customers?

JMM Health Solutions is focused on pelvic, perinatal, and sexual health and wellness. My clients are both adults and children but are most often adult women.

Tell us about yourself

I wanted to address issues that I was seeing, but we’re not being addressed as often or easily with long-term carryover from a hospital setting. I also wanted to be able to educate individuals on pelvic health, normalize body functions, improve sexual health and education, and have a positive impact on birth. Each day I get to work with clients is a blessing and a gift. I get to help someone on their individual journey, and seeing them no longer in pain, being able to have sex, and having the birth they desire all motivates me to continue doing this work.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Most businesses fold in the first two years, and I have been blessed to have launched my pelvic floor therapy services in 2017 and continue to this day.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Sometimes it can be lonely in business, so it is necessary to find other business owners you can connect with who understand the ins and outs and can relate to the journey.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get a coach or mentor.
  2. Connect and network with other entrepreneurs. Iron sharpens iron.
  3. Find a way to create balance. Business is important, but so is your health, family, and sanity. Balance is key!
