Custom Designs, Handmade With Love - Jlurose

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jasmine Lubandi, Owner of jlurose, located in Cleveland, OH, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

The name of my business is jlurose! I started my business so I could remind people to incorporate self-care and self-love into their lives. I also love spreading positive vibes to help motivate and inspire others! Even on their worst days, I hope I can bring a little joy into their lives!

Tell us about yourself

I grew up with people telling me that art could never be a career or that I could never succeed in the creative field. I always wanted to prove people wrong, one because knocking on someone's dream is sad, and two, I shouldn't care what others think! Even though right after high school, I didn't start off by going into a creative field, and when I say I tried accounting, let's just say that it definitely didn't work out. If I have a dream, I'm going to work towards it. I think the TikTok community I've discovered really motivates me every day because I know I have their support, and they are always there to uplift me on bad days.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner would probably be launching my own website! I started out on Etsy because that's really the best way to get your foot in the door, but when creating my website, I could really bring the brand altogether, and driving sales on my own is a good feeling!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is probably avoiding burnout. No matter how much you can prepare for burnout, most of the time, it's inevitable. Especially with creating content, that can be the number one reason why burnout happens. So channeling through those emotions and accepting that you need rest can be very difficult but very necessary.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do your research.
  2. Do not compare your journey with anyone else's.
  3. Have a plan on how you're going to market your product – whether it be TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, in person, etc., and make a schedule that works for you.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I'm starting a podcast! It's called "sensitive queen speaks" my goal is to create an open space for other businesses, creators, brands, and artists, to voice out any struggles, questions, or anything they want to voice out and not be judged! You can be anonymous or not. But there is a business feature as well to help promote others! So if you'd like to participate, check out this link for the forms! :
