What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a photographer who specialises in Portraits, Fashion and Beauty.

Tell us about yourself

I came from a background working as a makeup artist. I have studied various arts, including acting, dance, painting, and textile. So for me, Photography was a natural extension of my ongoing exploration and work as an artist. I do what I do because I love it. I love connecting with people. The symbiosis of our individual visions to make art is exciting to me. I try to capture a tiny bit of each person's essence.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I think my biggest accomplishment is that after 14 yrs in a tough business, I'm still working and growing.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing for me is to keep up with changing social trends. My business is constantly changing with the fashions and trends. I always keep an eye on what the kids are doing and try to guess where trends are heading, all while keeping my work timeless. It's a balancing act.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Don't wait until you think you are ready. Just try now. You will likely never feel ready.
Ask for help from people who know things you don't. It takes away the anxiety and worry of feeling like you need to know how to do everything immediately. Running a business has so many parts to it you won't have all the skills all the time.
Growth takes time, be persistent.
