Possibility, Passion, Prosperity - Jennifer Jimbere
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jennifer Jimbere, Founder of Jimbere Coaching and Consulting, located in Mississauga, ON, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Presently, I work with highly educated, growth-minded action-takers who are serious about their success. I offer business and executive coaching and change consulting.
Tell us about yourself
In 1996, I was not like everyone else who stayed in the dorms at university. My parents and I bought a house and gutted it so that I could be a landlord and we would have an investment property. I remember having a full course load, working part-time, and paying bills at 18 years old. Responsible for the household and tenants. There were many stories I could tell from these times as not every tenant was ideal! This served me well. When I graduated from university, I worked in sales at a few car dealerships and then got into Financial Services. I was quickly promoted as the companies changed names, and I was a District Manager before I was 26 years old.
When I went into banking, I was promoted almost every year into bigger and more complex branches as my impact on the people and bottom line was quickly seen. With greater and greater responsibility, I kept learning. First Human Resource Manager, then Certified Professional Coach. When I was responsible for the professional development of all of the senior Financial Advisors in Canada at Edward Jones, that learning continued. I have become a certified Change Management Specialist, Extended DiSC behavioural trainer, and more. Building rapport comes easily to me. I transitioned from financial services to creating my own private practice in 2015.
Now, I celebrate the success I have working as an award-winning coach, international best-selling co-author, and supporting my awesome clients in North America. As your Partner in Prosperity, I help professionals reach their next level of success.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
A recognized authority in the psychology of performance, negotiations, and organizational turnaround. I have served as an advisor to thousands of individuals and organizations around the world for more than 20 years. Won the 2021 Business Business Consulting Service, Oakville Beaver Readers Choice Award. Nominated in 2020, 2021, and 2022 for RBC Canadian Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. Won 2020 Productivity & Profitability Consultant of the Year (Ontario) by Corporate Vision and have been named Influence Magazine's top 100 Authority. Won the CorporateLiveWire Innovation & Excellence Award for 2020 as Productivity Impact Consultant of the Year. Recommended and inducted into Who's Who of America in 2019. In my work, I am a strong advocate for the Science of Well-Being and infuse Positive Psychology practices in the partnerships I have with professionals as I do not believe that hustle is required for success and that happiness is a fundamental human goal. Proud to be a two-time International Best Selling co-author and three-time published author.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Consistency. Showing up when you do not feel like it. Leverage the 4DX model and focus only on the wildly important; know your lead measures of success and have a scorecard. When you use those partnered with accountability, consistency will pay dividends.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- We cannot know it all, and we all have to start somewhere. Embarrassment can sometimes be the cost of entry. If you aren't willing to look like a foolish beginner, you'll never become a grateful master.
- Work with proven professionals who you resonate with that are coaches, consultants, and mentors. Each plays an important role in your business growth and professional development.
- Work on your attraction marketing strategy. Prime people's thinking to think of you when they have a need so that they reach out. Again, consistency pays dividends.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
My belief is that people are creative, capable, wise, and good. This is what fuels my partnership with the professionals I work with.
