What's your business, and who are your customers?
I'm a personal brand and headshot photographer. I work primarily with heart-centered women entrepreneurs that want to be empowered and confident in their online presence. They want to connect with their audience.
Tell us about yourself
I've been a professional photographer for 15 years. I started as a wedding and portrait photographer but moved into the personal brand space back in 2015 because I saw a need for women entrepreneurs to compete in the online world. I saw that women never felt they looked good enough, and I truly believe that every person is beautiful, and it doesn't have to be someone else's idea of beauty. My goal is to capture your personality and make you look and feel good while doing it. I want to bring joy to my clients and make them feel seen.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I think my biggest accomplishment as a business owner is when my clients tell me that they had a lot of fun. Most people don't like having their photos taken, so when I can make my clients want to do it again and again, that's an awesome feeling.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things about being a business owner is the mindset. It's easy to get side-tracked and sucked into the more exciting tasks.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Make sure you know your numbers, what it costs to run and grow your business = what you need to charge for your services. (Also, pay yourself).
- What you do has value, and don't let the person that doesn't see it determine what your business looks like.
- Have fun. Work hard but don't neglect the things that bring you joy.
