Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Catherine Peters, Franchise Owner of JDog Junk Removal & Hauling, located in Freedom, WI, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a junk removal company that offers junk removal, demolition services, mobile home demolition, and labor services. We also donate and sell much of what we pick up.
Tell us about yourself
I first saw this opportunity in 2019 and was immediately drawn to the veteran ownership aspect of it. What motivates me each day is providing jobs to others, salvaging items, and growing my business.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Being named franchise of the year for 2021 and being awarded this in front of my peers at JConn by the owners of our great franchise.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
It's like a leaky water hose daily. When I get one leak patched, ten more pop up. There are very few days where it's just peaceful.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Make sure you can hop from task to task daily and go back and finish all of them.
- Surround yourself with a good supportive team of professionals.
- Keep your faith/prayer life active. You will need His help to get you through the rough stuff.
