Unleash the Beast Within - Jayme Shiarla Coaching
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jayme Shiarla, a mindset transformation coach, certified life coach, and NLP practitioner, based in Austin, TX, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I specialize in one-on-one coaching for the woman or man who struggles with using work as their drug of choice or is the "strong friend" of their group. I also provide group coaching, wellness retreats, and speaking events.
Tell us about yourself
I have an extremely diverse resume, personally and professionally. Outside of experiencing firsthand coming from a broken home, abusive relationships, death of friends/family to murder, suicide, overdose, cancer, accidents, etc., I also grew through the experiences of suicide, drugs, alcohol, and rape. Through personal development and working through a lot of my own stuff, I have always had a passion for coaching people and motivating them. Along with that, I've always been insanely intrigued by how the mind works and have studied a lot of psychology. It has become my mission to change, add value, and impact as many lives as humanly possible by whatever means possible.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I think my greatest accomplishment has to be awarded to the adversity I overcame. Had it not been for those experiences, I'm not sure I would have been able to endure the obstacles of being a business owner.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest thing for me has been isolation. Working with mental health and having to brand yourself as the expert sometimes comes with the struggle of trusting who you can turn to with your personal struggles. It took a long time to fully wear my vulnerabilities as strength and not fear it would lessen my credibility as a coach.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be genuine in connecting with people.
- Provide value to someone before ever asking for it in return.
- Just keep showing up.
