Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Javier Gumucio, founder of World Language US, INC, located in Middletown, DE, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Pronto is an Italian language school that provides language lessons through Zoom to students worldwide and also through pre-recorded video lessons. The comprehensive lessons allow students to master the language in its four pillars: speaking, writing, reading, and understanding, while also learning about Italy's rich culture, including its art, history, music, food, and fascinating facts about the most beautiful places to visit. To date, more than 5,000 students in over 95 countries have learned through our courses.
Tell us about yourself
I've been passionate about learning and mastering foreign languages for over a decade now. I speak five languages fluidly. My love for Italian started when I first learned the language and had the opportunity to travel to Italy. The country's culture and beauty left a lasting impression on me, and since then, I've been motivated to share my knowledge of the Italian language and culture with others. Teaching Italian is a way for me to spread the love and beauty of Italy to others.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Getting amazing feedback and great reviews from my students is my biggest accomplishment as a business owner. I take pride in offering high-quality courses at an affordable price since I understand the frustration of purchasing overpriced and underdelivering online courses. It's fulfilling to know that my students have appreciated my efforts. Additionally, being able to reach and impact students from all over the world is a proud moment for me.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things for business owners is maintaining motivation and determination in the face of slow progress and a lack of immediate results. Despite working hard, it can be challenging to remain optimistic and focused on the long-term goal when progress is slow or absent. However, persistence and continued improvement can ultimately lead to success and the achievement of business goals.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Work hard. Put in effort and dedication, and do what it takes to reach your goals.
- Being passionate and positive will help your business succeed and stay enthusiastic about what you do.
- Never give up. Solve problems and keep moving forward, no matter what.
