Acquisition, Renovation & Resale - Javier Amatller
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in real estate but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Javier Amatller, Chief Executive Officer of Serenity Business Facilitators Inc., located in Toronto, ON, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Our business is commercial real estate investments, and our clients are time-poor people who have the desire to invest in real estate and be able to obtain interesting returns. On the other hand, we also have a settlement support company, where we provide support and advice to new immigrants to Canada.
Tell us about yourself
When we started with the real estate business, it was initially by acquiring some small residential properties and doing some renovations on them. What motivates us to continue with this business is to help people without time and experience who have the desire to invest in assets such as commercial properties and/or form or participate in a joint venture as a partner and obtain much more attractive returns than investing in other financial vehicles.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I consider that our greatest achievement as owners of the company is that we have been able to expand the business of Serenity Business Facilitators Inc. to other Canadian provinces and beyond the borders to other countries and, at the same time, grow our investment portfolio.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
We believe that the most complicated aspect of owning a business is having to face diverse and changing economic scenarios and having the flexibility to adapt and act through alternative strategies.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Perhaps the most appropriate advice that we could give to new entrepreneurs would be that the success of future businesses begins with new ideas, and therefore a great deal of courage and determination is required to avoid analysis paralysis.
- Second, seek mentoring in the business from people who have been successful in avoiding making too many mistakes and,
- Third, continue to educate yourself, learn, and improve yourself to become more adept.
