Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jasmine Iwaszkiewicz, Founder of Jasmine I, located in Toronto, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help women leave the soul-sucking slog of over-giving and under-receiving in their personal, professional, and Mom-ing lives.

Tell us about yourself

The fact is I began my biz out of a sheer crisis. If I had not been pushed over the cliff in my personal and financial life, I would still be on the carousel of anxiety, poor me, and anger at those around me who had while I had not. Who did while I did not? Who seemed to manage it and make it and be fulfilled about "it" while I did not. That was a real wake-up call, and I answered and.. the daily results for myself and others as I continue to answer the call of MY desires and ideal life motivate me to awaken every morning saying, "thank you," writing down my aims, and doing what I can, from where I'm at with love.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment thus far - starting from diddly squat believing I couldn't do it - I was drowning in fear and lack of self-trust to rocking a solid, six-figure business that helps others get up and out of the muck of stuck and elevate themselves to their ideal lives.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Staying fresh and frisky in the "why am I doing this" zone can be a challenge. Especially if, as a biz owner, you're doing it all alone.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Business is simple - it's all relationship based.
Be honest - first and foremost with yourself - about where you're at in business:
    Are you grassroots?
    Are you a boutique?
Are you a well seasoned, been there, done that, Master on a new adventure or transforming what you're now doing?
  2. Define your value.
Do whatever it takes to do so. Do the work on yourself: Your beliefs. Your approach. Your desires. Start with defining your honest ideal lifestyle.
Do you want to work 90 hours a week? If so, what will that cost you personally? Do you believe you have to do that? If so, why?
  3. Get a coach!
I have two coaches. At times in my life and career, I've had more. Do you need a coach? No. But... If you want to get out of your own self-imposed leghold trap that is stagnating your income, creative mo-jo, and personal fulfillment, get a great coach. A truth teller with experience and a no holds barred approach. I suggest a coach who works with the inner and the outer. Inner systems, as discussed above, and the strategic systems needed to get you moving - elevated from where you're currently at to where you want to be. You are, of course, welcome to contact me to see if we're a fit. Remember - a great coach is not your friend. They're better. They will ask you questions and illuminate things that a friend wouldn't dare due to the fear of losing the relationship. A great coach is only ever focused on your movement towards your desired outcomes.
  4. That's tip #4 ;-)
(I like to give a little more - I'm a Go-Giver like that) Define your ideal client and only work with that profile. That's it - for now...

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Do your work. Define your current self and life, and with an honest heart, define what you want to change, remembering that change, more often than not, means subtraction before addition. And... be kind to you - you matter, and you are enough!
