What's your business, and who are your customers?
BCA Executive Consultants was created to help companies and leaders be the best they could be. While we are sometimes hired to help "fix" things, our true passion and purpose are to take what is good and make it great.
Our clients include large (Fortune 100) down to small privately owned and non-profits. What makes our clients who they are is how they view their people as that is our space. How to help your people be the best they can be.
Tell us about yourself
My entire adult life has been about helping people in one way or another. I started as a medic in the USAF, then moved into the HR world after school, coaching and consulting. My gift is my ability to listen and know how to help, which most often means finding a resource outside of myself or my firm. I live for seeing my clients (organizationally or personally) grow.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
To build a firm that is not centric on my service or skills. BCA was created to be a firm of like-minded coaches and consultants that was results-focused through the relationship lens.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Getting caught in the trap of "doing" the work!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- You cannot wait to learn how to manage the tension between what is needed right now and what will be needed tomorrow.
- There is no "part-time" business owner. Commitment is critical. A hobby is not a good business model!
- Know your purpose/vision or whatever you want to call it. That is your NorthStar, and it is critical for building your business, and it has to mean something, not just words that sound nice!
