What's your business, and who are your customers?

Jae Sweets is a Custom Cake boutique. I specialize in creating personalized cakes for any momentous occasion. My clients are individuals that value memorable celebrations with an element of luxury. I have the necessary skill and creativity to make their vision come to life. If my clients have an idea for a cake, I can make it happen! My cakes are made with the highest quality ingredients and can be customized with any flavor, design, or size.

Tell us about yourself

The reason I entered the world of confections was my daughter, Jae. Originally I learned how to decorate cakes solely to make pretty cakes for her birthday parties. After growing this new hobby into a business, I began creating real-life goals for Jae Sweets. I started to see the ability to scale my business into a brand that will provide support in my journey of creating generational wealth. So my reason grew from celebrating my daughter to set her up for life. My passion for this business continues to grow the more I develop and scale in my industry.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I am a person that celebrates all the wins; The biggest would have to be transitioning from Florida to Delaware and still thriving. Remaining consistent in my pursuit even when the chips are stacked against me.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Imposter syndrome has to be one of the hardest things because, in all honesty, it returns every time I reach another level of business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Study the market for the industry that you are entering into.
Figure out and document your why; post it to someone you can see when you are working on your business because tough days will come.
Sing like a canary about your business. Tell anyone that fits your ideal custom provide and remind them often!
