Clarity and Action Consulting - Jaclyn Gallo

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jaclyn Gallo, CEO of Clarity and Action Consulting, located in Philadelphia, PA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a life coach, speaker, and author. As a life coach, my private clients and the students in my courses are typically women who want more from their lives. I help my clients shift their mindset and actions, so they can create a life they're genuinely excited about. As a speaker, I speak at corporations, conferences, and colleges. My most popular speech is about embracing failure and building resilience.

Tell us about yourself

After feeling unfulfilled at my first corporate internship, I started my business as a 21-year-old college student in my dorm room at Georgetown University. At age 21, my biggest motivator was the feeling of fulfillment I found when pursuing my dreams. At age 27, I am motivated by the positive impact of my work, the freedom and flexibility I've created, and my commitment to reaching my full potential.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

It's definitely hard to say (as I'm very proud of all of my accomplishments), but if I had to choose, I would say my podcast, Spark Your Light. It's a popular podcast that teaches principles of personal development. We have listeners in 94 countries and often rank in the top 100 charts of the self-improvement category of Apple Podcasts in various countries.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The most challenging part of being a business owner, especially in the early years of business, is the constant ups and downs. While these can be emotionally draining, they also help build resilience, which is a key character trait of successful business owners.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start yesterday! I'm here because I started 6 years ago.
  2. Be patient and let go of microwave culture. Think more about your vision for your business 5 years from now than your vision for your business tomorrow.
  3. Learn from your failures and keep moving forward. All entrepreneurs fail. It's actually what makes them successful.
