Designed to Give You an Edge - Into The Cryptoverse
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in finance but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Benjamin Cowen, CEO of Into The Cryptoverse, located in Chapel Hill, NC, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Into The Cryptoverse creates video analysis on financial markets, specializing in cryptocurrencies, equities, and macroeconomics. Content is available publicly, with exclusive content for a list of enthusiasts and market participants. Unique insights and charts are created weekly and continually added to Into The Cryptoverse Premium. All information is curated by me (Benjamin Cowen), Ph.D. in Engineering with a background in Computational Mathematics and Programming.
Tell us about yourself
I first learned about Bitcoin back in 2011 when I took a cryptography class during my undergraduate degree in mathematics. While I was unable to invest at the time, I started to become inquisitive about the asset class. I continued to follow the crypto market quite closely throughout graduate school, where I graduated with a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering. Learning lessons the hard way in the cryptoverse ultimately inspired me to start a Youtube channel to help educate others on the manners in which the cryptoverse typically operates. Effectively communicating these lessons with a data-driven approach helped accelerate the growth of my social media channels. My current motivation continues to be helping people navigate the cryptoverse while also simultaneously learning ways in which to manage their risk.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The ITC YouTube channel now has 784k subscribers. I have never done any sponsored content and have never turned on AdSense for YouTube. This has maintained brand loyalty for the ITC brand as we focus on creating unique content and charts for viewers and premium content subscribers.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest parts of having a business is ensuring that it is as efficient as possible so that it can weather the storms that come its way. Failure to prepare for difficult times could easily cause otherwise successful businesses to fail.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Just start. If you want to do YouTube, you don’t have to have all of the fancy equipment. To this day, I still use my internal microphone and webcam for recording shows. My audience still makes fun of me for my cardboard desk. At this point, it’s become part of the ITC brand. If you focus on content, being consistent, and helping people, you have a solid chance.
