What's your business, and who are your customers?

I create short stop-motion films on fairy tales. My viewers are those who love fairy tales and especially those who like experimental films and like to explore the life lessons hidden in old stories.

Tell us about yourself

My background is in theatre. I taught, wrote, and directed theatre for years. I also brought these skills to teach public speaking and executive presence to executives. In 2018 I started making short films.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I'm very proud that my films have won awards and are screened at film festivals around the world.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Having faith in my vision. Having patience for the growth of viewership.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find a social media platform that you enjoy using so you can organically build followers and relationships there. I enjoy Twitter and have enjoyed finding my community there.
  2. Don't be afraid to pivot as you discover your skills and passions. Be willing to let go of paths that aren't perfect for you. Be ready to accept that we can't be all things to all people.
  3. Find vehicles, like this community, to tell your story to others. As we keep telling our stories, we keep learning about our mission.
