Enjoy Better Sleep - Insomnia Coach
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Martin Reed, founder of Insomnia Coach, located in Cottage Grove, OR, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I offer sleep coaching programs that give adults with chronic insomnia all the skills and support they need to enjoy better sleep for the rest of their lives.
Tell us about yourself
I experienced insomnia when I emigrated from the UK to the US in 2008 and found a total lack of support and legitimate, evidence-based advice for people with insomnia. So, I resolved to help change that — and Insomnia Coach helps support this mission!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Receiving emails and reading reviews from people who have experienced a transformation in their relationship with their sleep (and their lives!) thanks to the information I created and shared.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Discipline — when you are your own boss, you are only accountable to yourself (and your clients). There's nobody else to make sure you get done what needs to be done!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Know your customer/client. You can't offer — or be — everything to everybody.
- Share. Particularly if you sell a service, share your expertise freely.
- Be tenacious. Success takes time.
