Take Your Cricut Business to the Next Level - InsideOutlined

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Reteisha Byrd, Founder of InsideOutlined, located in Little Rock, AR, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I teach Cricut owners how to use their machines and how to start their own successful Cricut businesses selling their handcrafted items. A Cricut is a cutting machine that cuts over 300+ materials, and users can create a variety of customized items such as shirts, tumblers, wood signs, door mats, and so much more.

Tell us about yourself

I’ve always been a crafty person, and a few years into my full-time career, I needed a creative outlet, so I bought a Cricut machine. Over time I realized that a lot of new Cricut users needed help learning to use their machines, so I started a website and YouTube channel and eventually started offering private virtual lessons to teach others. I then ventured into offering private coaching sessions to teach others how to start their own Cricut businesses. I’m motivated each day, knowing that I’m providing the answer to someone’s problem.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Helping others create and start their own businesses. I truly believe in paying it forward by teaching others, and I’ve found my niche area where I get to share my expertise with others. It’s very fulfilling.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Not selling yourself short. A lot of times, as a new business owner, you tend to discredit or discount your product or services because you aren’t confident in what you’re offering. Do your research, price your products and services at a reasonable price, and market to your target audience. When you do this, you don’t have to worry about selling yourself short.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Develop processes, know your target audience, and be committed to learning or outsourcing parts of your business. When you develop processes, this helps your business flow smoothly. Knowing your audience allows you to put your efforts in the right place. Learning your business or outsourcing certain parts allows you to operate to your strengths and delegate your weaknesses.
